Why creativity?
Talking through the creative process can make it easier for children to open up while also being less confrontational. Creating something can assist in building trust and confidence. Having a successful experience through a creative outlet allows for emotions to be released.
Children are more visually oriented than adults. (This is the reason why young children always win with the game of Memory!) Explaining complex concepts in a simple, playful and visual way can help to make them stick.
Since 2014, primary school children can participate in Press Play j/m creative workshops. Inspiration in the form of stories about artists, architects, designers and their work is offered. New creative techniques are taught. Many different kinds of materials are available to be used. Children are free to create whatever they wish. Joining in a workshop can be a low-threshold way to see if your child and I are a match.
